Your nominated Boots pharmacy will receive the prescription directly from your GP and then prepare it ready for you to collect.

How do I nominate a Boots pharmacy or switch my nominated pharmacy?England
The NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) allows most GPs in England to send prescriptions electronically to a designated pharmacy of your choice. You can nominate a pharmacy to receive your prescriptions via the EPS in a pharmacy of your choice, at your GP surgery or you can select a pharmacy of your choice online . You can nominate any pharmacy that operates EPS, this doesn’t have to be a pharmacy near your GP practice and you can switch to a different pharmacy at any time. If you would like to know more about EPS and how easy it is to switch to Boots please click here.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) does not exist in these countries, but you can ask your GP surgery to make a note of the pharmacy of your choice or pop into a Boots pharmacy near your GP surgery at their discretion. If you are in Scotland speak to your surgery about Medicines Care & Review Service where you can registered with a pharmacy of your choice.
